Bunker Brews at Loading Dock Raleigh

Hart Roberts

Business Networking & Brews Veteran Style

Join Bunker Labs RDU at the Loading Dock Raleigh, free of charge, on Tuesday, December 12th from 5:30-7pm.  Bunker Brews Raleigh begins at 5:30 pm at the Loading Dock, a perfect time to wind down after a long day.  Hear from Navy veteran Philip Freeman, founder of Murphy's Naturals and Loading Dock Raleigh, on how to remove barriers from starting businesses and the importance of collaboration.

After the program, we'll spill over in Lynnwood Brewing Concern (next door) as they will be supporting Bunker Labs in its Drink For a Cause Event (a portion of drink sales will be donated to Bunker Labs RDU... have fun and take Uber if needed).

bunker-brews-raleigh.jpg

What is Bunker Brews?

A monthly meet-up or happy hour where the Bunker Labs community — veterans, military spouses, and civilians alike can network with subject matter experts, investors, thought leaders, and more — creating a robust environment for growth and development.

What is Bunker Labs RDU?

Bunker Labs—a national non-profit—was created by military veterans for veterans to start and grow businesses. 25% of transitioning service members want to start a business and they need places inside their community where they can connect with the people, resources, and support they need to start and grow their businesses. Bunker Labs’ network is designed to fill that space.

A Sweet Collaboration With Bee Downtown

Emily Bennett

Sweet Collaboration

Something real sweet is happening around Murphy's!  We have partnered with our friends at Bee Downtown to start selling honey from our rooftop hives to members at Loading Dock Raleigh.  We love getting the opportunity to combine our efforts with Leigh-Kathryn, who was just named a Southerner of the Year, to Do Others Good!  100% of proceeds will go into the support of our very own rooftop hives and for the purchase of new hives.  The honey comes straight from our original three apiaries located above us on the rooftop! We now have five apiaries with over 300,000 bees!

What is an Apiary?

An apiary (also known as a bee yard) is a location where beehives of honey bees are kept.  Apiaries come in many sizes and can be rural or urban depending on the honey production operation.  Apiaries are built to harvest honey, benefit farming, or both.  It can be very helpful to the crops that surround it, as it encourages bee populations to remain in the area.  In return, the bees will perform pollination activities which fruits and vegetables require.

Going Green With Packaging

We are now using Barefoot Press for our printed materials. Barefoot Press is one of the original green printers, going all the way back to 1987.  Our honey jars have handmade paper with pollinator friendly wildflower seed inclusions.

Find out more about our friends Bee Downtown and be part of the buzz at Dock 1053!
